The Trumphal Return of the Château Borély
This elegant country estate is just a short bus ride from the Old Port of Marseille (and a few yards from the sea). The land was bought by one Joseph Borély, a rich merchant, in the late 17th century and his family built a sumptuous château, set in landscaped French and English gardens, as a place to receive and impress their family and friends. It's been closed to the public for nearly a decade, but opened its doors again this weekend (as a bonus, there are three museums inside). We went along to take a look. Click here to read more
