The Card Players of Paul Cézanne
You'll often see a huddle of them today in the corner of a small-town bar: players utterly engrossed in a game of cards. Now an exhibition dedicated to Paul Cézanne, the master-painter of Aix-en-Provence, and his studies of this essential feature of provençal life opens at the Courtauld Gallery, London on 21 October before moving to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2011.
